Snazzy Tunes - St. Vincent

I've been obsessed with this song lately. It's kind of dark and has a super catchy chorus. I find myself listening to it alot when I drive. A great song for the cold weather.

And also this song... more upbeat. Dancy and awesome

Snazzy Tunes - The Jezabels

Last night Nick and I went to go see The Jezabels play at Kilby Court. I first heard her on a biking video a couple years ago (cool video, check it out HERE - the other song in the video is by Loch Lomond). She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, and she sounded just as gorgeous live! They put on a really good show and were very friendly with awesome Aussie accents.

I predict these guys will make it pretty big someday.

Snazzy Tunes - Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti

I think I found Ariel Pink when browsing reviews on Pitchfork -their newest album got really good reviews. I like his music because it sounds old and dreamy but still original.

Last week Amanda, Nick and I went to go see him play at Urban Lounge. He walked down into the audience a lot and overall seemed like a pretty cool guy. I was secretly hoping for him to have a freakout like he did at coachella a while back (sat down on the stage refusing to sing - out of his mind on something) but it was a pretty standard show. What can I say? I Guess I'm a bit of a drama queen.

This is one of my favorite song's..

Snazzy Tunes - Oh Land

I've been hearing this song come up in a lot of playlists lately, and I have to admit... it's pretty catchy.

Give 'er a listen and watch out because the chorus will randomly pop into your head and you'll want to dance.

Snazzy Tunes - Radical Face

This came up on the ol' shuffle today and seemed like a fitting song as we transition into fall. This is one of those songs that I would consider a movie song.. you know in movies when some dramatic event happens and the main character is going through some moment of inspiration or realization? Like when a man realizes he let the girl of his dreams get away so he rushes to the airport to catch her before her plane leaves for Antarctica? This is the type of song that would be playing in the background.

Snazzy Tunes - The Cinematic Orchestra

This isn't a new song for me but I have been listenening to it a lot this week. I first heard it in the movie trailer for Another Earth (great movie, I highly recommend it). I immediately had to search it out and figure out who sang it.

It is such a gorgeous song! Give a listen..

Snazzy Tunes - The Drums

Note: This post probably spurns from the fact that I am still bitter about their show at Urban Lounge getting cancelled a couple weeks ago. I was pretty much devistated. Too sick to perform?? Pshhh...

I heard The Drums a while back and have adored them ever since. They have such an old sound which I love. Think Beach Boys gone indie + a little smidge of The Smiths.

They've gone through some major changes over the past couple years with the lead singer leaving the band. They have a few albums, the most recent of which is Portamento. I highly recommend giving it a listen.

The Drums - "Money"

For you fellow Utahns... You might recognize their "Lets Go Surfing" song from the lagoon commercial last year. I never knew Lagoon was so hip..

Snazzy Tunes - Desire

Ever since I saw the movie "Drive" starring I've been listening to this song non-stop. It's in the credits.. can't remember if it's the opening or closing credits.

It's got a great beat and is kinda creepy. Two major pluses in my book.
